Event Description: The Mississippi Radio Direction Finding Association is hosting this T-Hunt in conjunction with the Central Mississippi Amateur Radio Association's 3rd Saturday Expedition at Rocky Springs on the historic Natchez Trace. Individuals and groups may hunt for this unmanned transmitter anytime between 9:00 am and 12:00 noon. Special Note to Hunters: LOGGING: Since cell phone coverage at Rocky Springs is virtually non existent, we will be placing a paper log sheet on a clip board beside the transmitter for finders to sign in case the QR Code doesn’t work. The Hunt Coordinator will transfer all finders information to their online Hunt Manger account after getting back to civilization. BONUS TRANSMITTER: In addition to this regular hidden transmitter, there will be a second (BONUS) transmitter hidden very close to this transmitter using an undisclosed frequency. The exact frequency of the BONUS Transmitter will be printed on the ammo can containing the regular transmitter. The BONUS transmitter will only transmit when you use a radio to transmit DTMF Tone #1 on the frequency it is monitoring. Upon hearing DTMF Tone #1 the BONUS transmitter will begin transmitting its series of tones and ID in Morse code for 1 minute before returning to receive mode. There will be a QR code to scan on the BONUS transmitter, but just in case cell phone coverage is spotty, there will be a paper log sheet on a clip board beside the transmitter. Finders of the BONUS transmitter will receive credit for 2 finds in their Hunt Manager statistics.
